After six successful installments, the adrenaline driven car chase franchise Fast & Furious is coming out with a seventh film on April 3rd. Furious 7, as the filmmakers captioned it, is a movie where ‘Vengeance Hits Home’. For those of us who are have followed the lives of Dom and Brian as they went through heists, illegal races and a lot of car chases, the release of this movie feels like a long awaited meeting with our closest friends. It is not just the adrenaline rush in the movie, but an entire section of the population is holding their breath for this movie.
Inspired by street clubs that raced Japanese cars late at night the first Fast and Furious movie revolved around a racer and ex-convict Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his crew and Brian O’Connor (Paul Walker), an undercover cop who later joins the crew. The movie chronicles the protagonists of the movie as they clash with other street racers and the law, and ultimately ‘do the right thing’.
Set after the events Tokyo Drift, the latest addition to the franchise will see the crew seeking revenge for the death Han of their racers while they are being hunted down by Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) for killing his brother.
Along with Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, and Lucas Black are returning on screen to reprise their roles. While new faces like Thai martial artist Tony Jaa, UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, Kurt Russell and Djimon Hounsou will also join the cast alongside Statham. . Paul Walker, who was killed in a fatal car crash before filming was complete, will mark his final performance in the movie. It has been confirmed that Walker’s character would be retired instead of killed; hence the character has reportedly gone through a redevelopment during filming.
The movie shot in the States as well as Abu Dhabi, has been directed by Australian director James Wan replacing Justin Lin who has directed the last few movies in the series, while Chris Morgan has returned as the writer.
